This commemorative Slims package is the collaborative effort by several local businesses wanting to showcase their talents and honor Rick Chapman. Some of these items are a limited production never to be produced again. If you've been to Starving Artist you've seen the Slims Surf Board sign hanging above the door. This is now a "four of a kind" as the donor has offered to make two more for the auction. The originals were one for Andy and the other for Rick Chapman. Now you have the chance to be a part of that elite group! This commemorative piece will make a great addition to anyone's bar area, man cave or she shed. Then add to it a metal art Slims print and some swag to show off your dedication. Last finish off your day with your favorite beer in a commemorative slims beer glass. Package Includes: 1 Slims Surf Board Metal Sign by OGservices 2 Slims logo Glasses created by the Artisan Barn 1 Slims Metal Art Print by Sue Brown Photography 1 Slims T-Shirt courtesy of Starving Artist Brewing 1 One of a Kind Slims Logo Baseball Cap courtesy of Starving Artist Brewing Please check out the Artisan Barn for all your specialty logo promotional needs. For your next photography session please contact Sue Brown Photography. Looking for larger Metal Art creations then please contact OGServices in Grand Rapids! Slims beer can be found at Starving Artist Brewing, where you can learn the history between Andy Thomas and Rick Chapman and why we do this!
A note from Panthers Diamond Club, Inc: Rick had a passion to help other young entrepreneurs succeed at their own ideas and visions. There are numerous businesses in the Ludington area who can claim ties to Rick and his willingness to help them get started and succeed. After his death, a group of his close friends formed an organization in his honor to support young entrepreneurs and their dreams of opening a business of their own. The Rick Chapman Legacy League is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to assisting local young entrepreneurs via scholarships for business education and grants to help cover various start-up needs including property and equipment purchases, permits and fees, and other expenses needed to start their journey.
Our primary annual fundraiser is the Rick Chapman Legacy Golf Outing, which takes place each August. In just two years, these sold-out events (along with several smaller fundraising efforts and some amazing community partners including Safe Harbor Credit Union, Ludington Bay Brewing Co., and Starving Artist Brewery) have allowed us to dish out $4000 in scholarships and put aside $25,000 to start our scholarship endowment fund at the Mason County Community Foundation. This year, we launched our small business grant application and we are in the process of spreading the word about our efforts to support local start ups.
In the past, we’ve held a silent auction at the event to give non-golfers an opportunity to support our cause. We are excited to announce that this year's auction will be held online so that anyone can participate. Bidding will be available the entire week leading up to the golf event (August 4-11). To facilitate this, we are teaming up with Travel Pledge, which allows charitable-minded entrepreneurs like yourself to donate items for charities to use in their silent auction events. It’s a risk-free way for us to offer international experiences, golf trips, and vacations in addition to local products and services. Travel Pledge will allow us to showcase your donated items alongside their offerings in our online auction. This gives your business exposure to a much broader audience as a supporter of our cause.
Item delivery: After you have paid for any auction items that you won, the event organizer will contact you to coordinate delivery.
